VYJ in her studio, Sherborne, Dorset 2020

Following initial conversations, I will create a series of developmental sketches to establish the overall composition of your bespoke commission. As each piece is original and the essence of each location is so specific, I prefer to visit the site in-person with my camera, to really get a feel for the landscape, forms and colour palette of the place.

However, if this isn’t possible, Victoria is happy to work from reference photographs of the site and surrounding areas. Likewise, if there are particular examples of Victoria’s work that really strike a cord, these can be useful to see too, especially in terms of colour combinations, abstraction and vibrancy levels.

Throughout the process, Victoria will consult with the client directly (via Zoom / email or in person during scheduled studio visits) and at the end of the process there will be an opportunity to purchase some of the initial sketches and drawings that have informed the finished work.

Costs : Commission costs depend on the overall project and location. A quote will be provided at the start of the process.

As a general guide, here is an overview of prices :

60 x 80 cm framed canvas / £1,600

85 x 85 cm framed canvas / 1,900

90 x 110 cm framed canvas / £2,100

Duration : Commission projects take between 6 - 9 months from initial discussions through to completion, which allows time to develop the work, make adjustments and have the finished piece properly framed and shipped.

Deposit & Payment : In order to confirm a commission, we require a £500 deposit, payable before the commission is started. Final payment is requested to confirm shipment of the finished piece. Please note, if site visits are approved by the client, travel expenses will be added to the final project invoice.
